Sephora Play Box June 2017 Unboxing

Sephora Play Box June 2017 Unboxing

Hey you!  This week I am unboxing and reviewing the Sephora Play Box.  I know this is late, considering this box is from June, but it took me a while to get set up with my camera to vlog so I’m just running a little bit behind. Did you watch the vlog? Click below to watch it.

If you’ve never participated in the Sephora Play box, it is a beauty subscription service similar to Ipsy and Birchbox.  All of the products are brands sold at Sephora.  You typically get about five products per box in sample sizes so you can test them out and figure out what works best for your needs.  It’s only $10/month, which I find to be a steal since other beauty subscription services can run double that.

Let’s run through what’s in this box:

Benefit The POREfessional Face Primer

This priming balm works to blur the appearance of large pores and mattify oily patches.  Its has become a cult favorite with beauty insiders.  I have dry skin and smaller pores, so this isn’t useful to me but my mother has the perfect skin to test this out on.

Kat Von D Everlasting Liquid Lipstick in K-Dub

Holy crap, this lipstick is ammmaazzziiinnngggg! The color is a beautiful, electric fushia (although, in my vlog it looks purple). Bonus? It lasts all. damn. day. When they say everlasting, they sure as hell mean it. It lasted me through three meals, errands, and vlogging. It also comes in what feels like 475896754 shades.  Tip: Be sure to use a good lip scrub before application for precision results.

YSL Black Opium Eau de Parfum

This has become a cult favorite and I was very interested to finally get to smell it.  It is on the heavier, stronger side and has notes of coffee, vanilla, and orange blossom.  To me, this would be better suited in the fall/winter or maybe somewhere it isn’t 100 degree (this is a summer box and I live on the surface of the sun in Texas.)  It does have a lovely feminine fragrance and although I would love it better if it here a tad lighter, I can see the draw and why it has become so popular.

OUAI Rose Hair & Body Oil

Now this one, I love!  Yes, it smells like rose, duh…but like the delicate scent of smelling a rose in your hand.  This is more of a dry oil that conditions dry ends of hair or to rub on problem areas or patches of skin.  It is light and won’t weigh your hair down but as with any oil, stick to just applying to the ends.  The rose hip and shea oil can help combat redness and scarring.  No parabens and never tested on animals.

I would give you a photo of it, but I like to sit stuff just any old place so I can’t seem to find it.  I have been using it shamelessly so I must’ve put it on my hair the other night and sat it down in some remote location.  I have a touch of ADD so getting sidetracked easily is a pain.  I’m sorry.  I am sure to find it as soon as I post this.  But still, get it Here.

IGK Rich Kid Coconut Oil Gel

Do you enjoy washing your hair and then ending your routine at that?  Me too!  My hair is so long, so coarse, so dry, so wavy.  I relish that the weight keeps it from being a mile high but prefer it to be a little bit smoother with very (I mean verrryyy) little effort.  I slap this in it after a washing (towel dry first) and go to sleep.  My hair dries softer and smoother that if I had out nothing in it.  Gives me that laissez fare , Janis Joplin “I may have a rock show to headline later” vibe.

First Aid Beauty Hello FAB Coconut Skin Smoothie Priming Moisturizer

Shit, that was a long damn title.  Could they have taken just a few words out and still gotten the point across?  Anyway, it does all those things in the very long title and smells like coconut but I didn’t find it out of this world thrilling.  Is it a one-stop-shop if you’re on the go or like to keep it simple?  Yep.  Is is good for pretty much any and every skin type?  Yep.  Will I be heading out tomorrow (or maybe ever) to buy it?  Nah, probably not.  Sorry.  Minimalism your bag?
